When I look at a card like Ramos, Dragon Engine I see two things: lots of counters and lots of quick mana. I'm a spellslinger player at heart, and the idea of a multicolour Commander that rewards a player playing rainbow spells to ramp you into further spells screams Instants and Sorceries to me.

We're neck deep into Ravnica Allegiance Standard. New decks and old archetypes are still in strong showing. When rotation happened, we lost one of Standard's strongest removal spells: Abrade. As a Red player myself, I still miss it. The tone of Standard is defined by certain benchmark cards. If a card is very easily removed, then such vulnerable cards just won't see competitive play unless they're extremely powerful. Think back to Abrade – cheeky value artifacts couldn't be considered as any Red deck would have maindeck removal for it.
